We would like to thank all of the guests that came to fish beautiful God’s Lake in 2008 and look forward to seeing you again next summer. We had a remarkable fishing season with monster Pike, beautiful Brook Trout, tasty Walleye and lots of Lake Trout. The Brook Trout were very plentiful during the months of June and July in God’s River: There was a 44 inch Lake Trout, and a 50 inch Northern Pike caught during the beginning of the season which meant phenomenal fishing for the rest of the season! Sure enough, there were just under 500 trophy fish caught in 2008. Congratulations to all who caught trophies at Elk Island Lodge.

We had a great team of welcoming and hard-working staff here at Elk Island Lodge, and would like to acknowledge their efforts. We couldn’t have made this season run as smoothly and as enjoyable as it was without them. Special thanks go to our newest additions: our expditor Troy, about who we’ve had several compliments regarding his courteous and helpful ways with our guests; our cook Beata, who is so appreciated for her delicious home cooked meas; Moses the guide, who has shown outstanding improvement in his guiding skills this year; our in-house staff Kristin, Michelle and Alyson for their winning personalities and constant consideration for the needs of our guests; our maintenance man Kyle, who worked tirelessly and seemingly never stopped to take a much deserved break! Last but not least, our guide Clayton, who worked so well with the guests that many commented on his being very polite and helpful in the boat. Guests were very impressed with the experience and knowledge of all our guides, and enjoyed relaxing in the eveing with them and a big plate of smoked Lake Trout that the guides willingly prepared for all.

Having dependable and efficient service providers sure made things run effortlessly, and enabled our guests to have the seamless, relaxing trip they had been counting on. Our appreciation also goes out to Calm Air; the Four Points Sheraton and Continental Travel for taking such great care of our guests before and after their experience with us.
