We would like to thank all our guests that came to fish and experience the natural beauty of God’s Lake through Elk Island Lodge in 2009 and we look forward to seeing you again next summer! The fishing as usual was fantastic, with many HUGE Northern Pike, breath taking Brook Trout, monster Lake Trout and beautiful Walleye being taken, even a 50 inch Northern Pike caught by Leon! The Brook Trout fishing was spectacular; many guests came back to the Lodge with stories of catching 10 or more, 20-24 inch Brook Trout. Walleye fishing was better than ever in 2009 with two giant 30 inchers taken. Lake Trout were incredible as we boated a dozen Lake Trout over 40 inches. Our guests once agian caught over 400 trophies over the 2009 season! We congratulate all of you who caught these trophies while staying at the beautiful Elk Island Lodge on God’s Lake.

We had our usual team of friendly and hardworking staff here at Elk Island Lodge, and we would like to acknowledge their great efforts in making this a pecial trip for all our guests. This season would not have run as organizaed and smoothly as it did without their efforts! Special thanks go to our return additions: our expeditor Melissa, about whom we’ve had endless compliments regarding her sweet and helpful ways with our guests; our Chef Bob, who is appreciated for his mouth watering gourmet dining; Jimmy the guide, who is always willing to help and accommodate his guests; our in house staff Vanessa, Krista, Behany and Jocelyn for their glowing personalities and constant attention to detail towards the guest needs; our maintenance man Kyle, who became a guide in training mid season and did a great job attending to his guests and catering to their needs; our winter/guide Barry who is always willing to drop everything to give an extra helping hand; last but not least, Gary who had a rocky start to the season but ended up with one of the best years in regards to trophy fish that Elk Island Lodge has ever seen! Congratulations Gary, Elk Island Lodge Guide of the Year! Guest were very impressed with the knowledge and experience of all our guides, and enjoyed learning different techniques to create more strikes while fishing. Our guest were also very impressed with how efficient and delicious the shore lunches were, as they were prepared in an hour or less. That is a trademark of an Elk Island Lodge guide.
